5 Current go to Hair and Beauty Products | Beauty

Hair and beauty products

I'm definitely not a beauty blogger by any means, if you've followed my blog for a while you'll probably more than likely know this. From time to time thought I do like to put up the occasional post on Beauty or Hair related things, because I'm a girl. Its what we do, or well it's what I like to do. To be honest though I'm not the most clued up person when it comes to this type of thing which is why I tend to leave it to the experts but when I've used a few products I really enjoy I just fancied a little chatty post about a few.
So today I've picked out a my 5 Go to Hair and Beauty Products I'm using and totally loving at the moment.

Neutrogena moisturiser lush rose jam lush H'Suan Wen Hua tony moly boubous healthy serum foundation

Lush Rose Jam

Rose Jam

I'm aware that this probably or almost isn't in any Lush stores at the moment but this year was the first year that I got to try Rose Jam having never tried any lush shower gels apart from Bubbly which again I tried this year I'd always gone for Bath Bombs having not had a bath at my house for years when I did it seemed like a big thing. But with a bit of the excitement dying down I did start using shower gel. I actually brought this as a present for my mum she said how much she loved the smell of roses and that having tried it in the shop she fell in love.
It was a no brainer to buy it for her and I knew being rose I wouldn't use any of it... well come one day in the shower I thought oh you know I'll give it a little smell. I was blew away so of course I had to try it and oh my god it is the sweetest smell; so much so it almost makes you feel like you can eat it. (You can't obviously-it would be nice if you could)
What I always find with Lush shower gels is no matter which one you use they have a real thickness about them very gel-y you don't need a lot to lather up to much in the shower. Which is always great- lasts twice as long!
I recently tried the Rose Jam Bubbleroon too which you can probably tell is in the bath here. That one is too insanely good. I was initially put off using it because I thought the cream in the middle would make my hair greasy but it didn't, in fact I barely noticed.

Lush H'Suan Wen Hua

H'Suan Wen Hua

I'd wanted this stuff for ages I'd read about it and it sounded amazing.
Up on seeing it on Hannah Allison's Instagram and asking her how she found using it, it was pretty much a done deal.
My hairs been awful for a while now that's mostly down to the fact it needs cutting. But it also just feels so thirsty and dry not to mention how much it falls out. My hairs grew so much longer and as I am still continuing to try and grow it I want to keep it in the healthiest condition I can.
I use this once a week when I can remember. I have actually noticed a difference completely, my hair isn't falling out nowhere near as much as it usually does. You feel the benefit almost straight after washing it out, your hair feels a load more stronger not to mention clean and just a lot healthier.

Bourjois healthy mix serum

Bourjois Foundation

I paced up and down the makeup shelves for at least I'd say half an hour before deciding what foundation to buy. God knows what the woman must of thought when I walked over to her covered in foundation swatches. I'd ran out of space on both hands and my neck had streaky lines of orange here and there. I'd even go as far as to say I was literally sweating from the stress of it all but thankfully I decided on one. One that is not the two I originally had in my hand.
Nowadays I don't know about you reading but I often go by the opinion of beauty bloggers or just bloggers in general before buying things cosmetic I know they've probably going to have tried it before and know all the ins and outs of it.
Me on the other hand I'm absolutely clueless much to the fact I mentioned at the beginning of why you don't see many posts like this on my blog- it's not usually my forte.
A lovely girl told me on Twitter she had been using Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum and how much she was enjoying it. So after a bit of researching I decided to stick with it.
It contains serum and lots of other lovely stuff like Lychee and Pomegranate let me tell you it smells amazing! The reason I went for this is because for a while when I've been putting on my foundation I've found during the day it's sticking to dry parts of my face and just sort of cracking- I usually go for a quite full coverage or something a bit more Matte.
Baring in mind using face scrub and all that stuff I really needed a new foundation.
You can just feel when you put this on it feels so silky; even on your face it feels soft not cakey.
I was warned before hand it's not complete full coverage and its best avoided on days where I have a lot of blemishes, I do have to admit this is true but I have been using it with my Rimmel Concealer and Primer and together they have been doing the job quite well. I've found that even during the day my face still feels soft and breathable. I find myself a lot of the time wanting to wash my face as soon as I get home but honestly I almost forget I have this one on.

tony moly face mask

Tony Moly Face Mask

Man, I love a good face mask. I am always up for trying a new one and actually as you can imagine this was quite a unexpected present to receive from my boyfriend I have to admit I have never seen these Tony Moly Face Masks before so I don't know if any of you have.
But what I love aside from there super quirky packaging is their unusual flavours such as: Red Wine, Tomato, Seaweed and Avocado. Each of them have different benefits to them too so its nice to try out what each one is like each time.
I love the fact that they are the masks I like to describe as 'wet tissues with holes cut out in' which is probably the worst way to describe them but, me being me I love anything that requires minimal effort. I love the fact you can just take it out, place it on your face and then take it off again when your finished. As a pose to having to scrub your face to get it off or having to peel it off and getting it all stuck round your chin. Really I think these are perfect my face feels so fresh once I've taken them off and its been such a treat to try on every week or so.

neutrogena pink grapefruit moisteriser

Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Oil- Free Moisturiser

It takes me a while to find a moisturiser I like. I think it's almost as hard as finding a foundation if not worse.
If my face feels too greasy I hate it, having combination skin it can just cause havoc.
Or if I have one that is too drying and it doesn't cover enough skin obviously that's very annoying too. I don't usually look in the section with the face wash/spot treatment brands when looking for moisturisers but if you have problem skin and you use a brand for treating blemishes and such try looking to see if they have a moisturiser.
You tend to find that they are so much FAR less greasy than usual moisturisers and usually and like this one they contain no oil.
This one smells of grapefruit too which for me helps because I don't particularly like having anything on my face but I have to because I'm very self conscious of my skin.
I like it to try and make my face feel as fresh as I can and and covered heavy in product.
This Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Oil-Free Moisturiser is very lightweight and so smooth on the skin.
I do have to admit that around my eyes and lips I use a heavier moisturiser just because those areas tend to dry out more. But this moisturiser I have used for a while now and have no complaints at all. Before that I was using The Body Shop moisturisers and they are for me in my opinion the best (personally) but they are expensive when you are a student (well student on placement on a year out) so when I feel like treating myself I go for those. In between though this is very affordable, I couldn't be without it now.

I really hope you've enjoyed reading this post, if you liked it let me know!
You never know I might do more of these in the future!
Until next time lovely ones, take care!

What's your opinion?

  1. I really need a new moisturiser so I might try that Neutrogena one! Also, I'm such a fan of Bourjois healthy mix, it's really great in the summer when you don't need as much foundation!
